Coaching for Writers
Coaching for Writers Who Feel Stuck
If you’ve ever thought, “I’m smart, I’ve lived a lot of life… so why can’t I finish this book?”, you’re in the right place. This is coaching for writers who want gentle, practical support to finally move their stories forward—and, if they choose, to use tools like AI in a way that supports their voice rather than replaces it.
This is for you if you’re a midlife writer or creative with a mystery, romance, trivia, or nonfiction idea you can’t seem to finish; if you’re curious about turning stories into interactive experiences (games, puzzles, activity books) but don’t know where to start; or if you’ve started and stopped the same project more than once and need structure, encouragement, and honest feedback—not judgment. It’s also for you if you’d like to use AI to help with brainstorming, research, or organization, but you’re wary of losing your style or crossing ethical lines.
In coaching, we can clarify your idea so you know exactly what book or game you’re making, build a simple, realistic structure (chapters, beats, or puzzle flow), and create a writing rhythm that fits your actual life. We’ll work through stuck points in plot, character, or concept, shape interactive elements (clues, trivia, activities) so they feel fun rather than confusing, and map out next steps—beta readers, editors, or querying agents—so you’re not left wondering what to do when the draft is done. If you want to bring AI into your process, I’ll show you how to use it as a thoughtful assistant for tasks like idea‑generation and organization, while keeping your creative voice and values firmly in charge.
Sessions are 60‑minute Zoom calls, usually every 2 or 4 weeks, with light email check‑ins between sessions for questions and accountability. Coaching for writers is $125/hour, and deeper story or concept consulting (including interactive/game design work) starts at $150/hour, with multi‑session packages available if you prefer to commit to a project over several months. My style is kind, direct, and practical—I’ll cheer for your wins, but I’ll also tell you the truth about what’s working and what isn’t, so the project you finish is something you’re proud to share.
I’m an author of cozy mysteries, later‑in‑life romance, interactive mystery games, trivia and road‑trip books, and 60+ nonfiction titles, including guides that help artists and adults over 50 learn AI without overwhelm. Before writing full‑time, I practiced law and ran a tech company, which means I bring both story sense and strong structure to every project. I’ve spoken and taught at conferences, universities, and creative events, and I specialize in helping capable adults who feel “behind” or overwhelmed find a path forward that actually fits them.
